MAC Warehouse Sale Haul - June 6 2014

This haul post is a coming in a bit late but that's ok because there isn't much that I bought from this MAC sale.  I got tickets this year from work and was a little excited to be going.  I haven't been to a MAC sale for about 4 years.  I must say, the sale hasn't gotten better.  I attended the sale on the Friday but after work, so there were a few products sold out already.  But I wasn't disappointed about the lack of product supply, there wasn't much I really wanted.

The most enjoyable part of this trip is the fact that they were still selling the Bobbi Brown Cleansing Oil but sadly, for a must higher price than I last bought them 4 years ago.  Also, the Darphin Paris skincare that I bought.  I'm a little surprised at how much they cost at regular price.

With all this skincare, I spent just over $240 CAD.

1.  Estee Lauder - Advanced Night Repair Synchronized Recovery Complex - $45 CAD
MRSP of the vamped up version - Synchronized Recovery Complex II: $105 CAD

2.  Estee Lauder - Time Zone Night Anti-Line/Wrinkle Creme - $45 CAD
MRSP of the vamped up version - Age Reversing Line / Wrinkle Creme - $78 CAD

3.  Darphin Paris - Intral Toner with Chamomile - $10 CAD
MRSP: $42 USD
4.  Darphin Paris - Intral Cleansing Milk - $15 CAD
MRSP: $54 USD

5.  Bobbi Brown - Soothing Cleansing Oil - $25 CAD
MRSP: $49 CAD

6.  MAC Pro Longwear Eye Shadow in Always Sunny - Free Gift
MRSP: $25 CAD

So this is the end of this post.  Hope you all enjoyed it.  There wasn't much I purchased but I did get what I wanted from the sale - BB Cleansing Oil, which I had a review here from 4 years ago.

Makeup Removal

From the time I knew how to apply makeup (I was probably around grade 8 or 9) until now, I think there has been - at most - a handful of times that I didn't wipe off my makeup, nor cleanse my face and went straight to bed.  BUT I haven't skipped this important process for a looong time.  Even during my undergrad years, no matter how late I came home from studying or partying, I'd remove all my makeup, cleanse my face before going to bed.

My recent makeup removal routine has been a two-step process.  Here's a little experiment I did so I can share with you, blog readers, on the effectiveness of Bobbi Brown's Cleansing Oil.

I've done a review on the Bobbi Brown Cleansing Oil last September.  I'm still on that same bottle of Cleansing Oil with one-third of the bottle left.  But I thought this little experiment I wanted to share could be an additional review on BB Cleansing Oil and my makeup removal routine.  Anyways, here's how I remove my makeup after wearing it for 6 - 7 hours.  Most of my makeup has melted off already.  Oh and don't mind my greasy hair and my minor breakouts.  =\

Left: Before removing makeup ; Right: After removing makeup

Before makeup is removed
After using Bobbi Brown Cleansing Oil
I take 2 pumps of Arumee Pro-Moist Cleansing Milk and massage it into my face

Dirty tissue with wiped off Cleansing Milk from my face
Washing my face after using Cleansing Milk

Ta-da! My face is makeup-free and feels smoooooth.  =)
Clearly, BB Cleansing Oil did do its job - in terms of makeup removal.  But if you zoom in on that dirty tissue, you can see there is still very little - what looks like - foundation on there.  Oh and may I add that I definitely did wear mascara, eye liner and eye shadow, but BB Cleansing Oil has taken that off already.

Review: Bobbi Brown Cleansing Oil

I bought this Bobbi Brown cleansing oil from the MAC warehouse sale.  This is the first time I've used cleansing oil to remove my makeup and I find that it works really well.  I've read some reviews that compared the MAC cleansing oil with the Bobbi Brown cleansing oil.  Some say that their effectiveness are about the same.  But I bought the Bobbi Brown over the MAC because the BB one had more product.  Anyways, I've used it like 5x so far and it leaves my face feeling really soft.  How do you use it? Well I take 2-3 pumps on my palm, lightly rub it all over my face for a good 20 seconds or so then rinse it off with water.  Once the oil comes into contact with water, it changes into a milky white solution - an interesting transformation.
The packaging box states this product wipes off non-waterproof makeup.  I use waterproof mascara and I find it may take a few more seconds to wipe off non-waterproof mascara but it works.  I haven't experienced any irritating problems.

Product: Bobbi Brown Cleansing Oil
Rating: 4.5 / 5

Pros:
- Effectively cleans off makeup easily
- Leaves skin soft
- Doesn't leave skin with greasy feeling or even during the application
- Doesn't break me out

Cons:
- Not time-efficient when it comes to rubbing off waterproof makeup
