Update, Clarisonic Plus

I'm sorry my blog followers.  Clearly blogging hasn't been my priority for the past year or two.  I've been working a lot and getting tired too easily.  But I'd love to keep this blog as a journal, just writing about my day-to-day life's ups and downs experiences.

First, I'm a little excited to talk about my purchase of the Clarisonic Plus system I did during the summer.  So a few months ago, I stopped by one of my local Shoppers Drug Mart - a drug store with a luxury beauty department and while browsing, I realized they started to carry the Clarisonic systems.  My Clarisonic Classic was still working at the time, so it didn't really matter to me that Shoppers sold it.  But coincidentally, my charging base stopped working one day so I called up Clarisonic and they couldn't do anything about it since it was over the warranty period.  So I wanted to get the charging base, and I did consider purchasing it on website.  But honestly, the base costs $50 USD and with shipping and handling on top of that it'll probably come to over $70 CAD equivalent.  So I decided to look into purchasing a brand new Clarisonic Plus which then came to my mind that I could buy it from Shoppers and redeem my points.  Now you might be thinking I'm just saving a few bucks from redeeming my points, but coincidentally, Shoppers have been promoting their Senior's Day 20% off on Thursday.  Depending on the store, the age to be considered a senior varies and it happened to be 60 years of age for my local Shoppers.  Now, here's when my mom - mind you, who is a senior - comes into play.  I had my mom pay for the Clarisonic Plus.  The system originally costs $265 before tax, with 20% off and $85 worth redemption points, my Clarisonic ended costing around $150 CAD after tax.  Awesome right?

Haul: SDM Dior

Yesterday, I went to Sherway Gardens intentionally to go to Sephora to get some of my wishlist products.  But as I walked out of Sephora, I saw a SDM so I decided to walk in and ask them what skincare product they'd recommend to help with the broken capillaries on my cheeks and skincare that could prevent and correct the little wrinkles I have under my eye.  So the guy there was really helpful and explained that broken capillaries are more visible under the skin because I have a thin top layer of skin.  He recommended me this Ultimate Wrinkle Correction Serum to increase the skin density to help with the wrinkles and broken capillaries.

I also took advantage of the SDM promo where you spend over $50 and you'd get 20x SDM Optimum points.  Overall, I spent $130 CAD and using a gift card with $5.16 left on it, I spent $141.74 CAD.  Quite expensive for a skincare product, but I never know whether it'll work unless I give it a try.

And because they were having a Dior promo, they gave me a gift bag full of sample goodies - Dior Multi-Perfection Serum, J'adore perfume, Dior Addict 2 perfume and Diorshow Mascara.

The extra sample I have is Dior Hydra-Life cream that I got when I went to the Bay at Yorkdale mall.  I used it this morning and it feels great on my skin.  I might be getting this after I finish my Shiseido Brightening Moisturizing Cream.

Haul: Shoppers Drug Mart

Yes, I have yet another haul.  I've been wanting to try out Anna Sui's foundation for a good few months.  LOL funny how I've had Dior foundation on my wishlist for a long time but never got around to buying it.  But I justified myself for buying this Anna Sui foundation because Shoppers Drug Mart (drugstore in Canada) had two promos going on - (1) spend $50 or more and receive either 20x the optimum points or $20 SDM gift card; (2) spend minimum $60 on Anna Sui products to get a gift.  So I ended up getting, just two things so I'd qualify for the GWP (gift with purchase).  I got the Moisture Rich Fluid Foundation in P05 and Lip Rouge G in 700, which reminds me of MAC's Creme D'Nude.  I was a little disappointed in their GWP, which was a purple fabric bag, nothing too outstanding.  However, the sales did give me two mini perfume samples.  I've never tested their fragrance before but I am super surprised how nice they smelt.  Personally, I think the scents weren't too strong which I love - now I may have a replacement for my Juicy Couture perfume.
